# Horowhenua Helping Hands Trust

> We started out delivering firewood to a handful of elderly residents in 2016 and have run the appeal every winter since. All of the money raised stays in Horowhenua and goes straight to heating, bedding, and food for people who ask us for help.

- **Heater servicing** — $60. Safety check and clean for an existing heater

### Food and essentials

- **Weekly food parcel** — $40. Feeds a family of four for a week
- **School lunches** — $15. Five days of lunches for one child
- **Power account top-up** — $50. Credit applied direct to a household account

## About

Referrals come through the Levin foodbank, local schools, and Whaiora Marae, and we deliver ourselves in a borrowed van most Wednesdays. Every request is checked by one of our three trustees before anything goes out, and we keep a simple ledger open to anyone who asks.
